According to the Daily Star, Lyon’s Houssem Aouar has agreed to personal terms with Arsenal to transfer to the north London club.
Telefoot in France is also reporting the Gunners have made their first official transfer bid to Lyon for Aouar at $40.8-million (USD).
However, Lyon’s owner and president, Jean-Michel Aulas posted this comment on Twitter, “For Houssem, Arsenal is too far from his value. We are counting on him to play a great match in Lorient and lead OL in CL next year.”
It is being reported Arsenal are preparing a second bid for Aouar.
Mikel Arteta made Auoar one of his primary transfer targets for the majority of this transfer window, along with Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey.
Rumors out of London have also indicated the Arsenal brass have told Arteta to choose between Aouar and Partey. It doesn’t appear the club will have the cash necessary to purchase both players.
