The Gunners are red hot!
7 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat since the World Cup break, plus a 5 point lead over Manchester City on the league table with a game in hand. This is exactly where you want to be as the season hits the halfway mark.
Next up is Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City’s team in the 4th round of the FA Cup. And, this is not a game Mikel Arteta plans to take lightly.
First, he wants to win the FA Cup, and second, he wants to prove to City and the rest of the football world this season is no fluke. In a match where a reserves and younger players would normally see some action, I predict Arsenal will field a very strong XI on Friday, and so will the Sky Blues.
Now, let’s go back a moment to Sunday and congratulate the lads for a very strong performance v Manchester United. This was a great team win with several remarkable individual performances by Eddie Nketiah, Bukayo Saka, Aaron Ramsdale, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Alex Zinchenko, and of course, Thomas Partey. Also, a tip of the hat to me comer Leandro Trossard for making an impact in his Arsenal debut!
Even when we were down a goal early, and even when the match was tied late in the game, you had to know Arsenal would find a way to win the match and the 3 points. They did, and they did.
So Gooners, please don’t wait for the bubble to burst. Please don’t be a glass half full supporter. It’s our responsibility as Gooners to give this club everything we have on match day, whether watching at home or in the stadium.
We are on the verge of something very special this season, so let’s enjoy the journey, and always keep the faith!
Cheers.
