What a wild couple of days, right? I mean could things have gone any crazier with this entire Europe Super League fiasco?
Okay, now that it appears to be off the table (for now), let’s bring our focus back to Arsenal on the pitch.
Friday is a huge test for the Gunners as we host Everton. We lost to the Toffees 2-1 at Goodison Park on December 19th. Currently, Arsenal trails Everton by only 3 points in the league table. However, due to the Gunner’s goal differential advantage, a win over Carlo Ancelotti’s squad would move AFC into 8th place.
When selecting Friday’s starting XI, Mikel Arteta will have to deal with several key players who will remain on the sidelines, including Aubameyang, Odegaard, Lacazette, Luiz and Tierney.
With that said, here is my predicted starting XI line-up to face Everton on Friday in Emirates Stadium…
[4-2-3-1]
Nketiah
Martinelli, Smith Rowe, Saka
Elneny, Partey
Xhaka, Gabriel, Holding, Chambers
Leno
Predicted final score: ARSENAL 1 – Everton 2
