Let’s look back fondly at the season past

The season is officially over for Arsenal Football Club.

Following a tremendous performance on Sunday v Wolves, the Gunners can enter the summer break on a very high note.

This has been a remarkable season, and for those who remain disappointed, just take a look a the entire 2022/2023 campaign.

1 – Remained on top of the Premier League for 248 days.

2 – Finished second to Manchester City by only 5 points.

3 – Won more league games than the legendary “Invincibles.”

4 – Qualifed for the Champions League.

Yes, the Gunners took a nose dive in April and May, but at the end of the day, no one expected the results Mikel Arteta and his team accomplished this season.

Now with summer here, the club’s goals will include renewing some important contracts, signing some new players and parting ways with some familiar faces. As hard as that is to do, the only way for this club to improve is to build a stronger second XI because the Champions League will demand for Arsenal to have more depth and more ability to compete than this season’s squad had available.

The Premier League will also be stronger next season. Expect Chelsea and Liverpool to bounce back. Tottenham may or may not improve over the summer, while the likes of Brighton, Aston Villa and Brentford will surely reload as well. Plus, don’t forget Newcastle United and Manchester United, and of course, the mighty Manchester City.

Yes, the road will be long and hard in 2023/2024, however, both our coaches and the players will have more experience to draw from, as the disappointment for not winning the title should be a big motivator.

And please guys, let’s make sure we win more of those matches against the lesser clubs. If you look back at this season’s results, you will see we had either too many losses or draws against teams we should have beaten.

So, for now, let’s enjoy the summer break, think fondly of the season past, and re-energize for the season ahead.

And if Sunday’s post-match celebration doesn’t give you goosebumps, nothing will!

Cheers.
