Look who’s back in the news, Unai Emery

Unai Emery is again making headlines after an interview with Spanish media outlet Marca.

Arsenal’s former manager has provided a list of explanations for Arsenal’s poor performances in 2019. “This second year, we have not played well, we have not defended well, we have not been competitive, we did not transmit. And I told the players myself. There were several problems; four captains, the Ozil-Kolasinac case, Pepe’s signing, who needs time since he came from France. We didn’t play well, that’s for sure. That brought us bad results, there was no improvement, the fans focused on me and they threw me out. But I keep the positive things, there were many. I had the funeral and the mourning. After my sacking, I dreamed a month of things about Arsenal. It was a natural process, and I overcame the duel. When I no longer dreamed them, I knew that I had overcome it.”

Emery also spoke of his issues with Ozil Mesut. “He’s a very good player that’s clear. But the physical demands in the Premier League are high. His performances are unpredictable. He’s a bit below the top players at the moment. Sometimes Arsenal plays better with him but other times he doesn’t make such a difference.”

Emery was sacked in late November of 2019 following a run of 7 games without a win.

Emery was then interviewed for the Everton manager’s opening before losing out to Carlo Ancelotti.

Remember, you never want to be the man who follows THE MAN, you want to be the man who follows the man who follows THE MAN.
Following Arsene Wenger was a big task for anyone.

Cheers. Gunner1953
