Should Bukayo Saka’s name be placed among this year’s European elites? Has the 21-year-old earned enough respect around the continent to be considered to be on this list?
Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe, Neymar, Kane, Haaland, etc.
Maybe not just yet, but Arsenal’s “star boy” should at least be considered to be the best 21-year-old player in Europe, if not on the planet. Hands down.
Saka has demonstrated, especially since the 2022 Euros, his mental toughness and intestinal fortitude. Many players would have taken off their boots and gone home after missing a penalty that could have won England a Euro championship. However, Bukayo Saka held his head high, returned to his club, and not only regained a belief in himself, but also the trust and loyalty from his teammates, both club and country.
On the pitch, Saka is a tremendous player on the right wing of the Gunners offense. Not only can he score goals, but is is among the Premier League leaders in assists, too.
Off the pitch, the young Englishman is considered a pleasure to be around, and a really great teammate.
Every Gooner, from every corner of the globe, wants Arsenal to re-sign Saka to very long-term contract. We all know he would be worth every dollar he would be paid. In my opinion, he is the heart and soul of this club. Even though he is not the team’s captain, he still leads by example, both on and off the pitch.
Whether it’s Mikel Arteta or Gareth Southgate, Bukaya Saka has become a permanent fixture on their respective team sheets on match day.
The last ten matches of this season will hopefully go further to expand his young legacy as one of Arsenal and England’s best!
Cheers.
