Edu Gaspar and Mikel Artera are beginning to formulate a really solid squad for the coming season, and as of today they have already signed four players – Mo Elneny and Eddie Nketiah, plus newcomers Marquinhos and Fabio Vieira.
Still on the Gunners radar are Gabriel Jesus, Raphinha, Youri Tielemans and Fabian Ruiz, along with a host of other names Arsenal has been reportedly linked to in the past few days and weeks.
So, the closer we get to the start of the season the more excited I get. If the Arsenal brass can sign Jesus and Raphinha I believe this will be a very strong transfer window, and then if they could add either Tielemans or Ruiz, then even better. The more skill and depth on there squad, the better and stronger Arsenal will be for the long campaign ahead.
With that said, Edu and Arteta still have a host of players to purge this summer. So far, only Alexander Lacazette and Dino Mavropanos have hung-up their Arsenal shirts and signed elsewhere.
Now, with those signed so far, and with those who might still come in later, a starting XI on August 5th could look something like this…
Ramsdale, Tierney, Gabriel, White, Tomiyasu, Partey, Vieira, Odegaard, Raphinha, Jesus and Saka.
Then the bench could look something like…
Turner, Tielemans, Smith Rowe, Nketiah, Martinelli, Elneny, Cedric, Holding and Saliba.
Come on Gunner Nation, it’s time to get excited for the coming season. It’s never too early!
Cheers!
