The Gunners touched down in England on Thursday after a successful tour in the United States.
The squad returned home with 2 wins and 1 defeat while in the US with their best performance coming v Barcelona in front of Stan Kroenke on Wednesday night.
Mikel Arteta’s lads scored five goals on way to a 5-3 victory over the La Liga giants. Even though Arsenal scored a lot of goals, they also gave away at least two goals via poor defensive play. This was also evident in New York City when the Gunners played Manchester United. In that match, they gave up two goals due to sloppy defending.
Obviously, this will be a main focus for Arteta and his staff as they prepare for the final preseason match v Monaco in the Emirates Cup on Wednesday.
Then the Gunners will have their final test before the Premier League season kicks-off when travelling across London to face Manchester City in the Community Shield in Wembley Stadium on August 6th.
That match will help set the tone for Arsenal’s early season results.
As of today, we are only 15 days until the league opener in the Emirates v Nottingham Forest on August 12th.
