The handwriting is on the wall for Mesut Ozil

Breaking news out of London…

Sky Sports is reporting Mesut Ozil has jetted off to Turkey after being left out of today’s Arsenal’s FA Cup Finals squad. The report indicated Ozil was given permission by the club to leave England.

If you remember, a recent Yankee Gooner poll this week voted to have the German midfielder start in today’s match, however, it was a little naive for us to make such a claim since Ozil hasn’t played even one minute since the restart to the season in June.

Ozil, who is 31, makes a club high wage of $458,000 (USD) per week. He has one year left on his Arsenal contract, and just this week Ozil’s agent indicated his client has no intentions of leaving Arsenal before his contract runs out next summer.

It looks to me like the handwriting is on the wall, and we have probably seen Ozil play his last game in an Arsenal shirt.
