As I like to do on occasion, here’s my list of the Hot and the Not…
Hot…
Mikel Arteta – Won his 3rd Premier League Manager of the Month Award in January. That’s three out of five for the Gunners boss this season.
Arsenal Women – Have earned a spot in the FA Women’s Continental Tyres Cup final after defeating defending champs Manchester United on Wednesday.
Fulham…Not as hot as they were, however, they remain 8th on the Premier League table, plus the Cottagers have earned a spot in the FA Cup’s fifth round.
Wrexham FC…The 5th tier club has gained national appeal in the USA, and has even had good TV ratings for their recent FA Cup matches seen in the States. Of course, Ryan Reynolds name being attached doesn’t hurt either.
Marcus Rashford – The Man United forward is in great form, and has now banged in 11 Premier League goals so far this season.
Not…
Manchester City – Facing 100 counts for breaking Financial Fair Play rules. This could take the steam out of Pepe Guardiola’s team, and even his future with the Sky Blues.
Liverpool – Jurgen Klopp hasn’t found the spark this season with his Reds. Rumors indicate as many as ten current players on the squad could be sent packing in the summer.
Arsenal – The Gunners have lost two matches in a row by identical 0-1 score lines. They need to regroup and bounce back on Saturday v Brentford.
European Super League – In 2021, the idea died within 48 hours. Will many European clubs’ desperation and need to make more money help it succeed this time?
Chelsea – Graham Potter has to be on thin ice at Stamford Bridge. Even spending a huge amount of money in the transfer market won’t save this season for the Blues.
Erling Haaland – The Man City scoring machine’s productivity has cooled off in recent matches, but don’t expect that to last.
Cheers!
