I wonder if Jose Mourinho is still looking down at Arsenal today after the Gunners totally dominated Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday for a 2-1 win.
Congratulations to the entire staff and team for putting together and playing such a remarkable performances at The Emirates. Only if the Arsenal faithful had been in that stadium chanting their hearts outs would the victory have been any sweeter!
A key part of the match was that Hotspurs “Big Three” failed to materialize. Son Heung-Min left the pitch injured, Gareth Bale left the pitch angry, and Harry Kane left the pitch frustrated. Who could have asked for more.
However, there were a couple of big moments for Spurs in the match. Erik Lamela’s wonder strike was amazing, and then in stoppage time at the end of the game, Harry Kane gave all of us a heartache when his free kick hit the Arsenal goal’s upright. But, at the end of it all, the day belonged to Arsenal, Arsenal, Arsenal!
North London is again Red!
There were s many great individual performances yesterday for the Gunners, but for me, Granit Xhaka was my Man of the Match. Xhaka was everywhere, and always where he needed to be. His motor never quit running, and his hustle was really inspirational to watch. The Swiss midfielder wanted this game, and bad!
Yesterday and today, Jose complained about Michael Oliver’s red card decision against Lamela. Give it a break Jose, the Gunners were due a little VAR retribution. So, thank you very much!
With Sunday’s win, Arsenal has a little run going at the present time. In their last 5 games in all competitions, the Gunners are 4-1-0, with a +6 goal differential. In their last 5 Premier League games, Arteta’s squad are 3-1-1, with a +4 GD. Maybe things are looking up a little after all.
Next up for the Gunners is Olypiakos on Thursday at home, and then a crosstown road trip to West Ham United on Sunday. That will be Arsenal’s last match until the international break ends and Arsenal hosts Liverpool on April 4th.
Again, Sunday was a great day for Gooner Nation!
Cheers.
