What a week for the Arsenal Football Club! It’s been quite some time since we have had such a great seven days!
For me, yesterday’s performance is what we have been waiting to see all season. Every Gunner, who took the pitch Saturday, deserves a huge pat on the back.
I mean, their energy, commitment, desire, passion and overall team spirit was great to watch. In my opinion, no one played a bad game.
Even in the 90th minute, with a two goal lead, the Gunners were still digging for possession of the ball. They were in total control and were loving every second of it! Finally, the lads have showed they can put teams away, and this was no easy competition. Wolverhampton has had a terrific season, and are also digging for a European spot.
Mikel Artea said in his post-game press conference, “This team is alive and if they are going to be alive, they need to enjoy to suffer together. If they are able to able to do that, good things will come.”
The Gunners have now won 4 in a row, and have clawed their way to 7th in the Premier League table.
Arsenal’s win over Wolves was the also first time the Gunners have recorded a win away from the Emirates against a team higher than them in the table since 2015.
The schedule does not get an easier, with Leicester City, Tottenham and Liverpool lining up as the Gunners next three league opponents.
Wins and points are crucial if Arsenal has any hope to play in either the Champions League or Europa League next season. However, after what we witnessed on Saturday, it appears Arteta’s vision might finally be kicking in as the team we saw Saturday are becoming believers of Artetaball.
Now, let’s hope we can stay healthy, and take advantage of our new found mojo!
COYG!
Cheers, and stay healthy and safe!
