When will the bleeding stop?
If you watched today’s match, you saw an Arsenal team play pretty good football during a 20-25 minute spell late in the first half. This even resulted in an Alexandre Lacazette goal during open play. However, the remain 65-70 minutes was literally hard to watch.
For me, the one bright spot was the return of Gabriel Martinelli to the line-up. His pinpoint cross lead to Laca’s goal, but then he took a hard knock on the ankle and was forced to come off the pitch in the early stages of the second half. Mikel Arteta told the press following the game the injury looks to be just some swelling around the spot where Martinelli took the kick. Good news!
So, where do we go from here? Chelsea is next at the Emirates on Saturday, and I’m sure Frank Lampard and his squad are licking their lips in anticipation of this crosstown derby v Arsenal.
Even though Tuesday’s match was in the Carabao Cup and not in the Premier League, the Gunners once again demonstrated this club is sinking lower and lower every game.

I wish I had the answers, but what I do know is the current combinations are not working.
Is there some internal B.S. tearing this squad apart in the dressing room?

If you look back at the schedule, the Gunners were 10-0-3 going into the match at Aston Villa on October 8th. That 0-3 defeat seemed to be the beginning of this downward slide. Yes, it was a tough pill to swallow, but it shouldn’t have marked such a major turning point in the young season. But, it did.

Well, a result v Chelsea on Saturday would be a nice start, but unfortunately, I’m not encouraged.
