It’s a typical Transfer Deadline Day with news and rumors flying all over Europe. The window officially closes at 6 pm EDT (11 pm BT) today.
Who is coming?
The big story day is Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Party. Mikel Arteta has been hot on his trail since before the window even opened, however the Spanish club has made negotiating difficult for the Gunners. Now, it is being reported by multiple sources (Metro UK, Football.London, The Athletic, Sky Sports) that Arsenal is willing to meet Atletico’s transfer fee demand of $58.4-million (USD). Reports go on to say he will take his medical today in Madrid, and that he has agreed to a weekly wage of $324,500 (USD) to play for AFC. This is exciting news, but please stay tuned!
Who is not coming?
Well, we know Houssem Aouar will not be coming to the Emirates. The Lyon midfielder has decided to stay in France for another season after Arsenal and Lyon could not come to terms..
We also know Chelsea’s Jorginho looks to be staying put at Stamford Bridge. He scored twice for the Blues over the weekend.
Who is going?
Lucas Torreira looks set to go on a year-long loan to Atletico Madrid. He has already passed his medical, however, the deal is being held up by La Liga’s financial rules.
It’s official, Matteo Guendouzi is packing his bags and heading to Hertha Berlin on a one-year loan. The 21-year-old has been in Arteta’s doghouse since June.
It’s not official, but Sead Kolasinac could be heading to Bayer Leverkusen on a loan deal as well. However, there could be a last minute
change of plans by the German side.
More to follow later today!
Cheers, Gunner1953
