Who should replace Aubameyang in the Arsenal starting XI?

It goes without saying we will miss Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang the next three games. Our goal-scoring talisman has accounted for 50% of our Premier League goals this season. That’s impressive for Auba, but very unimpressive for the rest of the team.

Mikel Arteta has a very large hole to fill in the front three, or does he change tactics? Does he stay with three forwards up front, or switch off to just two. Can a duo of Pep and Lacazette get the job done? I mean these are three very important games facing our club. I’m going to call them all, “must wins.”

So, if Arteta stays with a front three, who joins Pepe and Lacazette?

If I were in Arteta’s shoes (and thank God I’m not), I would give Gabriel Martinelli the first shot v Sheffield United. If that doesn’t reap any goals, then give Reiss Nelson a run out v Chelsea. I would then go with Eddie Nketiah in the FA Cup tie v Bournemouth.

Against these three sides, Arsenal has 0 wins, 2 defeats , and 1 tie. These will be difficult games, with 2 of them on the road.

Obviously, we are all a little nervous to move on without our captain. Not only does he score, he also provides assists, he defends, and he draws extra attention from the opposing team’s defense. Big shoes to fill? Yes. But, football is a team game, and you’re only as good as “the next man up.”

Let’s hope someone steps up, and steps up big time!

Cheers. Gunner1953
