Will Arsenal sign anyone in January?

With only 11 days to go in the January transfer market we aren’t privy to any of the activity going on inside Arsenal HQ. We know the front office is working hard behind the scenes during this transfer window, but Gooner Nation is getting impatient and want to see something getting done.

The Gunners are now in an extremely important phase of the season. However, while the team needs to win games, the injury list also is getting longer and longer. Including Aubameyang’s suspension, here’s the list of Arsenal players who are not seeing any game action these days:
Kieran Tierney (shoulder)
Calum Chambers (knee)
Reiss Nelson (hamstring)
Sead Kolasinac (hamstring)
Rob Holding (unknown)
Sokratis (unknown illness)
Hector Bellerin (still training after hamstring)

It’s getting so bad even Mustafi has been offered an Arsenal contract extension, this according to Sky.

Arsenal’s list of potential transfers is longer than a country mile, and yet, we have seen nothing happening. Defensive cover is the need at this moment in time, and the clock is ticking for this window and for this season. Today, Mikel Arteta even said it was possible the Gunners won’t sign anyone in January. Really? Even with a completely healthy team (which the Gunners never seem to be), there just isn’t enough depth and quality to carry us through our three remaining competitions with any real success.

Mr. Kroenke, please send us just a little of your $6-billion USD so we can improve our (your) club. As basketball great Shaquille O’Neal once said, “I never worry about the problem, I worry about the solution.”

Cheers. Gunner1953
