With the clock ticking, Declan Rice appears to be leaning towards a move to Arsenal following West Ham’s rejection of Manchester City’s $90-million (USD) bid on Monday
It is now incumbent upon Arsenal to make a third bid comes closer to the $127.5-million (USD) price tag the Hammers have put on a Rice transfer.
To me, it looks like the Arsenal is the best fit for Rice. Let me give you some reasons…
- Rice will have a regular spot in the Arsenal starting XI. That may not be the case at City. Rice would have tough competition from Rodri who scored the Champions League Final winner earlier this month.
- Rice, along Bukayo Saka, will be a primary face of the club. He and Bukayoi represent two of the world’s best at their positions.
- From what we’ve heard, Rice wants to be a part of Mikel Arteta’s process, and help the Gunners win trophies.
- He can continue to live in London.
I think it’s a no brainer. Now, that’s not to say Manchester City isn’t a shiny opportunity for Rice. Obviously, they won the Treble this year and are favored to do it assign next season. They also have Pep Guardiola as their manager and the Citizens will continue to be a major player in Europe for some years top come.
Regardless of all that, I still think at the end of all the drama, Declan Rice will be an Arsenal player.
Reportedly, all personal terms between Arsenal and player are already complete, so once the next bid is accepted, it’s move sailing.
Fingers crossed!
Cheers.
