The October international break is winding down meaning the Premier League will be restarting very soon – like this weekend.
The Gunners are coming off an impressive 1-0 win over Manchester City before the break, with Arsenal basically tied for the top of the table with Tottenham Hotspur.
So, what’s next for our lads before the November international break? Let’s take a quick look.
On Saturday, Arsenal will travel crosstown to play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, and even though the Blues are off to a very mediocre start, this is not a match the Gunners can look past. This match is a London derby against a major rival, so there is much more at stake than three points on the league table. Bragging rights is a big one! Arsenal should get the win.
On Tuesday, it’s off to the Edtodio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan to face Sevilla in a Champion League group stage fixture. Sevilla has a huge European pedigree, so the Gunners will need to play hard and remain focussed in this match. These three points are very critical for the Arsenal side in Group B. Again, the Gunners should win this match.
On Saturday, October 28th, Sheffield United returns to Emirates Stadium for a Premier League match-up. This club has struggled since returning to the league, so Arsenal should be a picked to pick-up the points and the win in this one.
On, Wednesday, November 1st, it’s off to London Stadium for a Carabao Cup 4th round meeting with West Ham United. With so many matches coming so fast, Mikel Arteta should go with his secondary group of players in this one. I can not be confident here, so I predict the Gunners will be knocked-out of the Carabao Cup on 11/1.
On Saturday, November 4th, Arsenal continues it road trip with a match-up in the northeast v Newcastle United. The Magpies have had some early season struggles, however, this is a club that is coming into its own and will make the Gunners a prime target. A draw is likely in this match.
On Wednesday, October 8th, Sevilla comes to north London to face Arsenal in their second match v Arsenal in the Champions League group stage round. With their home support, Arsenal will prevail.
And finally on Saturday, November 11th, Burnley pays a visit to Emirates Stadium. The low-flying Burnley squad will fall victim to Arsenal in this match just prior to the international break beginning once again.
So, as you can see, there are some very interesting games coming up for Arteta and his team.
Staying fit, building points and holding momentum will be key factors for the club to focus on in the days ahead.
COYG!
