FoxNews.com published an excellent article Wednesday on Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka.
The article didn’t focus on his football success, instead it focused on the young man’s devotion to God, and how it has shaped his life.
Here’s a quote from the article…
“Yeah, I’ve been continuing to read the Bible every night. For me, it’s really important to, obviously, have the presence of God in me at all times. It gives me more confidence that God’s plan is perfect, so I can go on the pitch and know that God has my back. The main thing for me is keeping the faith, having faith in God, so I don’t need to be nervous or worried about outcomes. Obviously, its my first World Cup. I could start worrying about different things and different outcomes. Instead, I just choose to put my faith in God.”
Those words speak volumes about his character.
On Friday, Bukayo and his England teammates will face rivals France in the World Cup Quarterfinals. One would expect Saka to be in the England starting XI, after scoring three goals in just four matches.
However, regardless of that outcome, or the outcome of any match he plays during his career, both club and country should be very proud of this young man and the example he is setting to the next generation of boys and girls who want to follow in his footsteps.
Cheers.
