Anyway you look at it, the Everton match was a disaster. This was a game Arsenal needed to win, and should have won.
The Gunners have now lost three of their last four Premier League games. For a team that once had a chance of breaking into the top four, this is now a team that looks like a mid-table side at best. In our last four league matches, the Gunners are 1-0-3, with a -4 goal differential. Thank goodness Newcastle United was one of those four games to help give us a little hope.
Thanks to VAR, the Gunners only lost 2-1 today. Without VAR, Arsenal would have lost 4-1, and in my opinion, that would have been a more deserving scoreline for Everton
So, where are we now?
We are a club that can not score goals. Without Martin Odegaard and Emile Smith Rowe, the Gunners scoring goals recently, we would be handing out clean sheet after clean sheet to our opposing goalkeepers. We also lack creativity, however, even when there is an open look at goal, the ball fails to go into the back of the net. Case in point, Eddie Nketiah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang both had wide open looks today. Both shook their heads in disbelief. Really?
Arteta told Arsenal.com after the match, “We created four big, big chances, with Eddie, two with Martin and then one with Auba at the end, and when you don’t put them in the net away from home it’s very complicated to win the game, especially if you concede in the way that we did for example with the first goal. We gave too many balls away too easily and encouraged them against the movement that they had in the press. The few times that we did break the press we were open on goal, but we have to do it much more consistently.”
We are also a team that looks nervous with the ball, and at times confused and disorganized without the ball. I was also confused by Mikel Arteta’s subs. Why was Kierna Tierney withdrawn from the match so early, why did Nketiah come in before Aubameyang and why was Granit Xhaka on the pitch for the entire game?
Again, it looks like this season will be a rollercoaster ride. Per usual, December will could be a month of disappointment. Arsenal will probably leave nothing but a lump of coal under the Christmas tree for their supporters unless they can find a way to turn this current disaster around and begin winning matches again.
Ho Ho Ho! Ba Humbug!

A shocker by Arteta. He is too defensive, he is not very good as attacking tactician. Arsenal need to get an assistant coach who is 100% attack minded. Why the hell did we take two defensive midfielders?
We should be rotating see quad this month with pure attacking midfield and strikers. Arteta trying to play safe means we will get very few wins before Xmas.
Shame shame shame. Yes I am pissed off
