After a horrible start to April, the Gunners have now pulled off huge back-to-back wins v Chelsea and Manchester United, 4-2 and 3-1!
On Saturday, top to bottom, back to front, every Arsenal player had a big game, played with a big attitude, and came away with a big result. We even got a glimpse of Takehiro Tomiyasu on the pitch in the closing minutes of the match.
What I enjoyed most about the Man U game was how the players responded to the atmosphere created by the Arsenal supporters who were in full voice and gave everything they had to help the lads get the win.
Now, after Tottenham’s draw on Saturday with Brentford, the Gunners are in 4th place, 2 points clear of Spurs and even on games played. Now that Arteta again has the upper hand over Spurs, the boss and his squad can no longer have the big slip-ups that we saw v Palace, Brighton and Southampton. With renewed confidence, and a combination of players that is clicking on all cylinders, I’m hopeful those types of matches are in the rear view mirror for the remainder of this season.
Next up is West Ham United next Sunday at London Stadium. The Hammers lost a tough match on Sunday to Chelsea, and will host Frankfurt in their Europa League leg one semifinal on Thursday. Obviously, this gives the Gunners a little more rest and a little advantage over David Moyes’s club.
Again, great team effort, great match and a great result on Saturday!
COYG!
Cheers!
