Arsenal put on a magnificent first half performance that should have resulted in three or four goals, however, with a 1-0 lead at the break the lads did everything they needed to do in the second half to secure a 2-1 win over Aston Villa.
Sambi Lokonga filled in for the injured Thomas Partey and Mo Elneny, and performed extremely well, while Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli unleashed their magic to score the two necessary goals to win the match.
The biggest issue of the day was the questionable officiating both on and off the field. Bukayo Saka was thrown to the ground in the penalty box, and later Aaron Ramsdale was screened out of the play during the corner kick that resulted in the lone Villa goal. Both the referee on the field (Robert Jones), and VAR (Darren England), decided neither action warranted a penalty. I would love to hear further explanation from the Premier League’s officiating office on those two calls. In my opinion, both were serious enough to be ruled penalties.
Anyway, Arsenal won the match, 2-1, and are now five for five, and leading the Premier League table.
Next up, a trip to Old Trafford to face rivals Manchester United on Sunday.
Hopefully, Alex Zinchenko will be fit, as will the ankle of Martin Odegaard and the hamstring of Aaron Ramsdale.
Also, deadline day might produce a surprise or two as well.

The next time I read a blog, I hope that it wont fail me as much as this particular one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read through, however I genuinely believed you would have something useful to say. All I hear is a bunch of complaining about something that you can fix if you werent too busy seeking attention.
