Probably the biggest storyline in the Premier League this weekend will be the matchup of Arsenal v Chelsea featuring the Blues new front man, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
I really don’t see this as much of a grudge match as many people do, I really don’t. Sure, Auba left the Gunners on bad terms with Mikel Arteta last season, but since then a lot of water has flowed over the dam.
Since the split, Aubameyang has played at Barcelona and now Chelsea, while Arteta has rebuilt the Gunners into the league’s top squad. Everyone has moved on.
Yes, the TV commentators and the pundits will beat this horse to death, but for me, the story line of this match is can Arsenal maintain their early season form that has them on top of the league table?
The Gunners need to win this match no matter who the Blues put in front of goal.
I have no beef or bad feelings for Aubameyang, but Arsenal is a much better team now that he is gone.
So, for me, let’s play the game, forget about the player that left last season and focus on the really important stuff at hand.
The Gunners need to focus on beating Chelsea, not Aubameyang!
