Edu Gaspar and Mikel Artera have done a remarkable job so far this summer in the transfer market. Not only have they strengthened the Gunners squad, they have also trimmed the squad to a workable number with either through transfers or loans.
With just a week to go before the window closes, there is still some work to be done. First, Hector Bellerin and Ainsley Maitland-Niles need to find new clubs for the coming season. Both players have drawn serious interest within Europe, however, neither player is yet to move out of north London. I suspect deals will be completed for each of these players within the week.
Here’s a look at the Arsenal ins an out since July 1st…
Coming In
Marquinhos (Sao Paulo)
Fabio Vieira (Porto)
Matt Turner (New England Revolution)
Gabriel Jesus (Manchester City)
Oleksandr Zinchenko (Manchester City)
Going Out
Nicolas Pepe (On loan to Nice)
Dinos Mavropanos (Signed by Stuttgart)
Alexandre Lacazette (Released, then signed by Lyon)
Matteo Guendouzi (Signed by Marseille)
Arthur Okonkwo (On loan to Crewe)
Nuno Tavares (On loan to Marseille)
Bernd Leno (Signed by Fulham)
Folarin Balogun (On loan to Stade de Reims)
Charlie Patino (On loan to Blackpool)
Lucas Torreira (Signed by Galatasaray)
Pablo Mari (On loan to AC Monza)
Alex Runarsson (On loan to Alanyaspor)
Arsenal has also been able to sign contract extensions this summer with Mo Elneny and Eddie Nketiah. Reports are circulating the Gunners hope to extend Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli to longer contracts as well.
All-in-all, it has been a terrific summer to watch unfold as an Arsenal supporter, however, can they complete their business with another signing or two? Wilfred Zaha, Lucas Paqueta , Youri Tielemans and Pedro Neto appear to be the frontrunners.
As we always say, stay tuned!
Cheers.
