Finally, the Gunners will be back in action on Saturday for the North London Derby against archrivals Tottenham Hotspur.
There is always so much on the line in the match, however, this year, the Gunners enter the game on the top of the Premier League table, and will be looking to keep that spot this weekend.
Along with the Spurs match on Saturday, Mikel Arteta and his squad have a grueling October list of fixtures, 9 games in 30 days.
Here they are:
October 1 – Tottenham Hotspur (H)
October 6 – FK Bodo/Glimt (H)
October 9 – Liverpool (H)
October 13 – FK Bodo/Glimt (A)
October 16 – Leeds United (A)
October 20 – PSV Eindhoven (H)
October 23 – Southampton (A)
October 27 – PSV Eindhoven (A)
October 30 – Nottingham Forest (H)
That, my friends, is a lot of matches.
As always, the key will be keeping players fit, prepared, and focussed. We also need to get the rest of our international players back to north London healthy.
With several of the club’s main contributors fighting injury concerns, Arteta will have to be smart with how he rotates his squad throughout the month. On Saturday, however, we will the his best available eleven available take the pitch for the opening kick-off.
