It’s only fitting that Arsenal’s first opponent following the international break is Tottenham Hotspur.
Both cubs have started their Premier League seasons in fine shape. The Gunners top the league with 18 points, while Spurs is close behind with 17.
The two sides will meet again on January 14th at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
There is obviously no love lost the between the managers, players or supporters. This is the “Battle for North London.” Will it be red, or will it be blue following the match on Saturday?
I have predicted a 2-1 Arsenal win, based on our fine offensive chemistry and the defensive rigidness the Gunners have displayed so far this season. Yes, they will face a difficult threesome of Kane, Son and Richarlison, however, our back four has been resilient, with Aaron Ramsdale providing the final brick in the defensive wall.
Spurs tore the Gunners apart at the end of last season, so this will also be a revenge match, and a chance to show which club has the stronger chance of finishing in the Premier League’s top four at the end of May.
For me, this will be a sleepless night. The alarm will go off. I’ll clamor out of bed, drink that first cup of coffee, check the starting XI’s, and then sit back and watch Arsenal destroy the visitors from down the road.
COYG!
Cheers!
